Various development efforts and the protection of children are often faced with the problems and challenges in community life that is sometimes found on deviant behavior among children. Children who berhdapan with the law in the area of law Polresta Sawahlunto is as much as 54 (fifty-four) cases, with the number 78 (seventy eight) child, a case that stands out obscene acts followed by the crime of theft, the crime of persecution, the crime of embezzlement and the crime of gambling. Writing this using normative juridical research. Background problem in this research, how the development of children dealing with the case law in the jurisdiction of Police Sawahlunto? 2) What is the role and constraints of the police at Sawahlunto in handling cases of children in conflict with the law in the process of investigation? 3) How is the effort carried out by the police at Sawahlunto in tackling the constraints? It can be concluded that the development of children dealing with the case law in the jurisdiction of Police Sawahlunto up and down. The role of the police at Sawahlunto in handling cases of children in conflict with the law in the investigation process has been quite good, but there are some obstacles (external and internal) in carrying out the protection of the rights of children in conflict with the law. Berbagai upaya pembinaan dan perlindungan terhadap anak sering dihadapkan pada permasalahan dan tantangan di dalam kehidupan masyarakat yang kadang-kadang dijumpai terhadap penyimpangan perilaku dikalangan anak. Anak yang berhdapan dengan hukum di Wilayah hukum Polresta Sawahlunto adalah sebanyak 54 (lima puluh empat) kasus, dengan jumlah 78 (tujuh puluh delapan) orang anak, kasus yang menonjol perbuatan cabul diikuti dengan tindak pidana pencurian, tindak pidana penganiayaan, tindak pidana penggelapan dan tindak pidana perjudian. Penulisan ini menggunakan penelitian yuridis normative. Latar belakang masalah dalam penelitan ini, bagaimana perkembangan kasus anak yang berhadapan dengan hukum di wilayah hukum Polresta Sawahlunto? 2) Bagaimana peran dan kendala pihak kepolisian Polresta Sawahlunto dalam menangani kasus anak yang berhadapan dengan hukum di dalam proses penyidikan? 3) Bagaimana upaya yang dilakukan pihak kepolisian Polresta Sawahlunto dalam menanggulangi kendala yang ada? Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa perkembangan kasus anak yang berhadapan dengan hukum di wilayah hukum Polresta Sawahlunto naik turun. Peran pihak kepolisian Polresta Sawahlunto dalam menangani kasus anak yang berhadapan dengan hukum di dalam proses penyidikan sudah cukup baik, tetapi ada beberapa kendala (eksternal dan internal) di dalam melaksanakan perlindungan hak anak yang berhadapan dengan hukum.
