This research was conducted to determine the early growth of trembesi (Samanae saman) seedlings as a result of the type of material mixed in planting media and the dose of compost tea treatments. This research uses 2x5 factorial completely randomized design (CRD). The first factor is the type of material mixed in planting media (P) which consists of 2 levels, namely cow manure, soil, sand (3: 1: 2) (P1) and manure, soil, Biochar (3: 1: 2) (P2). The second factor is the dose of compost tea (D) consisting of 5 levels, namely without the application of compost tea, 300 mL compost tea, 400 mL compost tea, 500 mL compost tea, 600 mL tea compost. The results showed that there was no interaction between the treatment of mixed types of planting media and the treatment of compost tea on all observation parameters except for the observation parameter for the number of leaves 7 DAP. The treatment of the type of material mixed in planting media showed no significant difference in all observation parameters except for observations of plant height 21 DAP, number of leaves 35 DAP and 42DAP. Overall, biochar is a mixture of planting media that provides the best initial growth of seedlings. The treatment of compost tea showed no significant difference in all observation parameters except for plant height observations of 35, 42, 56 and 63DAP, the overall stem diameter of compost tea was not significantly different from the control on initial growth of seedlings.
