This research was conducted in one of the high schools in Gorontalo Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of counseling on cognitive abilities about unwanted pregnancy in high school students. The research design used is an experiment with a pretest-posttest design with a control group design. Respondents in this study were 46 respondents who were divided into 2 groups, namely the intervention group as many as 23 respondents and the control group as many as 23 respondents. The results showed that there was a significant effect in the intervention group with a P-value of 0.000 < (0.05), it can be concluded that counseling has an influence on students' cognitive abilitiesPenelitian ini dilakukan di salah satu SMA di Kabupaten Gorontalo. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penyuluhan terhadap kemampuan kognitif tentang kehamilan tidak diinginkan pada Siswi SMA. Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest with control group design. Responden dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 46 responden yang dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok intervensi sebanyak 23 responden dan kelompok kontrol sebanyak 23 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pada kelompok intervensi dengan P-value 0,000 < α (0,05), maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penyuluhan memiliki pengaruh terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa
