Analisis Kesulitan Siswa dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Eksponen Ditinjau dari Gaya Belajar Siswa

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal eksponen ditinjau dari gaya belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif. Terdapat 6 subjek penelitian yaitu dua siswa bergaya belajar visual, dua siswa bergaya belajar auditorial, dan dua siswa bergaya belajar kinestetik. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu angket, tes dan wawancara. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket gaya belajar, tes kemampuan matematika eksponen, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwasiswadengan gaya belajar visual lebih sedikit mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep, menerapkan prinsip dan tahap operasi hitung. Siswa dengan gaya belajar auditorial lebih banyak mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep, menerapkan prinsip dan tahap operasi hitung. Siswa dengan gaya belajar kinestetik lebih sedikit mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep sedangkan lebih banyak mengalami kesulitan dalam menerapkan prinsip dan tahap operasi hitung. Kata Kunci: soal matematika, eksponen, kesulitan siswa, kesulitan menyelesaikan soal, gaya belajarThis study aims to describe students' difficulties in solving exponential problems in terms of student learning styles. The type of research used is qualitative research. There are 6 research subjects, namely two students with visual learning style, two students with auditory learning style, and two students with kinesthetic learning style. Data collection techniques in this study are questionnaires, tests and interviews. The instruments used are learning style questionnaires, exponential mathematical ability tests, and interviews. The results showed that students with visual learning styles had fewer difficulties in understanding concepts, applying principles and stages of arithmetic operations. Students with auditory learning style have more difficulty in understanding concepts, applying principles and stages of arithmetic operations. Students with kinesthetic learning style have less difficulty in understanding concepts while more difficulties in applying the principles and stages of arithmetic operations.Keywords: math problems, exponents, student difficulties, difficulty solving problems, learning styles.
