<![CDATA[This research is motivated by the conditions encountered in the field that is still the doubts of students to counselors in dealing with the problem and consider the school counselor as a police officer to be in fear . This study aimed to describe : 1 ) The responsibility of the counselor, 2 ) Personality counselor . This type of research is classified as a descriptive quantitative research . The population of this research that all students in high school Dian Andalas Padang numbered 339 people , with a sampling technique stratified random sampling done by the number 77 . The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire and analyzed by using percentages . The results of this study reveal the perceptions of students about the existence of a counselor visits the responsibility is on the criteria of a good counselor and counselor personality are the criteria very well . It can be concluded that the perceptions of students about the existence of high school counselors in the field of Andalas Dian excellent . This research was recommended to learners to further appreciate , respect again counselor , do not give a negative assessment of the responsibilities or duties or counselor personality .]]>
