This research is motivated by the presence of police motivation is low in the civil service work. Thisstudy aimed to describe the intrinsic and extrinsic job motivation police civil service in South Solok. Type ofresearch is descriptive quantitative research with a sample population of 176 people and as many as 80 people,the sample collection by using simple random sampling. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire.While the analysis of the data by using a percentage formula. The results showed that: the motivation of thepolice work of the civil service in South Solok with respect to the average intrinsic motivation have highmotivation, except for the indicator criteria being needs. With regard to extrinsic motivation, the average policecivil service also has a high motivation, but there is one indicator that the low work motivation is the rewardreceived indicator. Related to these findings, it is suggested to officials of South Solok police makers to paymore attention to employee welfare agencies South Solok particular employee who is a non-permanent workersin the civil service police South Solok, so that the police civil service South Solok can increase motivation andprofessionalism in work.
