Problems in this study was based of learners attention of to teachers and friends at school, such asa loner, poor relationship, not knowing of talents, decreased learners achivement, not interested tolearn, feel insecure and didnât of a teahcer. The purpose of this study: 1) Internal factors and, 2)External factors that affect the self-esteem of learners. This research is quantitative. Sampling wasconducted by using stratified random sampling technique. The population in this study were 810learners, while 102 sampled learners. Collecting data by distributing questionnaires to learners.Analysis data using a percentage formula. The findings of the study revealed that the internalfactors classified as category very much and external factors affecting the classified categories lotof self-esteem of students in Junior High School 10 Padang. Research findings show that, theinternal factors that affect the self-esteem of learners are in the category of very much, whileexternal factors are in many categories. This study aimed to learners can building positively selfesteemthe good of intelligence, physical condition, gender, family and social environment.
