<![CDATA[Background: The EBI is one of the programs directed to accelerate the decreasion of the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) in Indonesia. The presence rate of EBI in Indonesia is 29.3%, while in East Java it is 34%(Riskesdas,2010). Objective:This research aimed to analyze the effect of adult learning and service commitment of the EBI to the midwive’s implementation to conduct EBI. Method:This is a quasi-research (Non-randomized pre test - post test control group design), participated by 53 midwife respondents that divided in to experimental group (32 respondents) and control group (21 respondents). Results: The Wilcoxon test results, after the education there was an increase in EBI implementation on the experimental group (0.014 p < 0.05). The Regresion Logistic test result showed the effect of knowledge to the midwive’s implementation to conduct EBI (0,011 p < 0,05), the effect of attitude to the midwive’s implementation to conduct EBI (0,042 p < 0,05.Conclusion: Adult learning and service commitment of EBI SOP had an effect on the midwives’ implementation to conduct EBI in Probolinggo Municipality (p< 0.05). Recommendation: The Adult Learning and EBI service commitment of EBI SOP should be implemented to health center’s midwife. Keywords: Adult learning of EBI, midwife, commitment, implementation. ABSTRAKLatar Belakang:Inisiasi Menyusu Dini (IMD) merupakan salah satu program upaya akselerasi penurunan angka kematian bayi (AKB) di Indonesia. Cakupan fasilitasi IMD di Indonesia sekitar 29,3%, adapun di provinsi Jawa Timur fasilitasi IMD sekitar 34% (Laporan Riskesdas,2010). Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh pendidikan dan Janji Layanan IMD oleh bidan terhadap tindakan bidan melakukan IMD . Metode: Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimental quasi (Non randomized pre test – post test control group design), dengan jumlah bidan responden 53 orang terbagi menjadi kelompok perlakuan (32 respoden) dan kelompok kontrol (21 responden).Hasil: Hasil uji Wilcoxon terdapat peningkatan tindakan IMD sesudah edukasi pada kelompok perlakuan (0,014 p < 0,05). Hasil uji regresi logistik ganda menunjukkan pengetahuan berpengaruh terhadap tindakan bidan melakukan IMD (0,011 p < 0,05), sikap berpengaruh terhadap tindakan bidan melakukan IMD (0,042 p < 0,05). Kesimpulan: Model Pendidikan Orang Dewasa untuk IMD mempengaruhi tindakan bidan melakukan IMD di Kota Probolinggo (p < 0,05). Saran: Pedidikan Orang Dewasa tentang IMD dan Janji Layanan IMD oleh bidan sebaiknya diterapkan kepada semua bidan penolong persalinan.
