Background. Obesity is still a problem throughout the world with an increasing prevalence where one of the causes is due to a lack of knowledge about obesity.The research objective was to see the effect of animated video and scrapbooks on increase knowledge of obesity. Method. The type of research used is quasi-experimental with pretest and posttest with the group design approach. The total sample size is 30 high school of classes X, XI, and XII with simple random sampling. The analysis used is the Paired T-Test and independent T-Test. Result. The results showed that the pretest averages score of knowledge in the video animation group is 61,34 and the posttest average score is 91,11. In the scrapbook group, the average pretest score was 70,67and the average value posttest 83,11. The average posttest score in animated video group was higher than scrapbook group. Conclusions. Animated videos and scrapbooks are good nutrition education media that can increase the knowledge of obesity in high school or vocational high school students. However, animated video is more effective seen from the higher average value of knowledge.
