<![CDATA[Studi ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan dan menganalisis penerapan perlindungan indikasi geografis garam amed, baik dari segi hukumnya maupun sosial ekonominya. Selain itu, menganalisis tanggungjawab pemerintah terhadap sector ekonomi masyarakat penghasil indikasi geografis garam amed. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian hukum normatif dengan pendekatan peraturan perundang-undanggan dan konseptual, dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa selama ini perlindungan indikasi geografis diakomodasi dalam Undang-Undang No 20 Tahun 2016 Tentang Merek dan Indikasi geografis. Sehingga perlindungannya belum dapat diimplementasi secara optimal. Selain itu, pemanfataan secara ekonomi belum maksimal yang berdampak masyarakat penghasil garam amed belum merasa manfaat perlindungan indikasi geografis. Oleh karenanya, perlu adanya undang-undang tersendiri secara sui generis dan tanggungjawab pemerintah perlu ditingkatnya untuk membuka jangkauan pemasaran dan promosi agar terwujud kesejahteraan masyarakat penghasil indikasi geografis. ABSTRACT This study aims to describe and analyze the application of the protection of the geographical indication of Amed salt, both from a legal and socio-economic perspective. In addition, analyzing the government's responsibility for the economic sector of the community producing the geographical indication of Amed salt. The research method used is a normative legal research method with a statutory and conceptual approach, analyzed qualitatively. The results of this study explain that so far the protection of geographical indications has been accommodated in Law No. 20 of 2016 concerning Trademarks and Geographical Indications. So that the protection cannot be implemented optimally. In addition, economic utilization has not been maximized, which has an impact on Amed salt-producing communities who do not yet feel the benefits of protecting geographical indications. Therefore, it is necessary to have a separate law on a sui generis basis and the government's responsibility needs to be increased to open up the reach of marketing and promotion in order to realize the welfare of the people who produce geographical indications.]]>
