Abstract

Malnutrition is one of the leading health problems of international concern, especially in developing countries. In general, malnutrition is divided into undernutrition and overnutrition, commonly referred to as undernutrition and overnutrition. In Jambi province, malnutrition in children under five still needs attention. To make it easier to detect early on the nutritional status of children aged 6-59 months regularly, an Android-based application modification that can be downloaded through the play store under the name "nutrition" was made. The purpose of this study was to see the effectiveness of an Android-based application for early detection of the nutritional status of children. The research method used in this research is Research and Development research. Sampling was done using a cluster random sampling technique with as many as 57 respondents. Data analysis includes activities of respondent needs analysis, system design, implementation and unit testing, system testing, and maintenance. The results of this application are very well used to detect the nutritional status of children independently at home. In addition to the effectiveness of the application, the quality of the application is also 77% of respondents said it was good. Conclusion: the application that has been compiled and designed using this android-based development method can be used by respondents to independently detect the nutritional status of children at home on an ongoing basis.
