PENGARUH LOKASI DAN GEDUNG PERPUSTAKAAN TERHADAP MINAT KUNJUNG PEMUSTAKA

The aims of this study were to describe: (1) the responses of users about the location and building of the Archives and Libraries Office of West Sumatra Province; (2) the effect of the location and building of the library on visitor interest at the Archives and Libraries Office of West Sumatra Province. This study used a quantitative approach with associative methods by distributing questionnaires as a data source. The population in this study were users who visited the Archives and Libraries Office of West Sumatra Province and a sample of 97 people. Sampling using nonprobability sampling technique with purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was carriedq out through 3 stages, namely tabulation, correlation test and regression test.Based on the research that has been done, the results obtained are summarized as follows: (1) the user's response to the condition of the location and library building is considered good by the user, this can be seen from the number of respondents who choose to agree with the condition of the location and library building at the Provincial Archives and Libraries Service West Sumatra; (2) there is an influence of 0.771a between the location and the library building on visitor interest at the Archives and Libraries Office of West Sumatra Province which has a strong correlation when viewed from the guidelines for the degree of relationship which explains that if the Pearson Correlation value is 0.61-0.80 then it is in the strong correlation category. Thus the hypothesis testing carried out is accepted by proving the hypothesis Ha or the working hypothesis which states that there is an influence between variables X1 (library location) and X2 (library building) on variable Y (visiting interest).Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) tanggapan pemustaka tentang  lokasi dan gedung Dinas Kearsipan dan Perpustakaan Provinsi Sumatera Barat; (2) pengaruh lokasi dan gedung perpustakaan terhadap minat kunjung pemustaka di Dinas Kearsipan dan Perpustakaan Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode asosiatif melalui penyebaran kuesioner sebagai sumber data.Populasi dalam penelitian ini merupakan pemustaka yang berkunjung ke Dinas Kearsipan dan Perpustakaan Provinsi Sumatera Barat dan sampel berjumlah 97 orang. Penarikan sampel menggunakan teknik nonprobability sampling dengan teknik sampling purposive. Analisis data dilakukan melalui 3 tahap, yaitu tabulasi, uji korelasi dan uji regresi. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan hasil yang didapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut: (1) tanggapan pemustaka terhadap kondisi lokasi dan gedung perpustakaan dinilai baik oleh pemustaka, hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari banyaknya responden yang memilih setuju dengan kondisi lokasi dan gedung perpustakaan di Dinas Kearsipan dan Perpustakaan Provinsi Sumatera Barat; (2) adanya pengaruh sebesar  0,771a antara lokasi dan gedung perpustakaan terhadap minat kunjung pemustaka di Dinas Kearsipan dan Perpustakaan Provinsi Sumatera Barat yang berkorelasi kuat jika dilihat pada pedoman derajat hubungan yang menjelaskan apabila Nilai Pearson Correlation sebesar 0,61-0,80 maka berada pada kategori korelasi kuat. Dengan demikian pengujian hipotesis yang dilakukan diterima dengan terbuktinya hipotesis Ha atau hipotesis kerja yang menyatakan bahwa adanya pengaruh antara variabel X1 (lokasi perpustakaan) dan X2 (gedung perpustakaan) terhadap variabel Y (minat kunjung).
