This research is motivated by the low level of students' problem solving skills, especially in Physics. This is because so far the learning process has not developed thinking skills that are useful for solving problems in everyday life. One way to improve students' problem solving skills is by applying HOTS questions in the learning process. The expected goal of the researcher is to improve problem solving skills through the application of HOTS questions in physics learning. The benefits of the research are: For students, it is expected that the application of HOTS questions in physics learning can improve physics problem solving skills. This type of research is a class action research conducted with the aim of improving the learning process and increasing physics problem solving skills while improving student learning outcomes, especially class XII IPA6 SMAN 2 Tambang, Kampar Regency. The assessment was conducted on two aspects, namely, students' physics problem solving skills and students' learning outcomes. After the research was conducted, the average score of students' absorption was 84.85 for the aspect of problem solving skills and learning outcomes of students' knowledge aspects with a very good category. Classically, the students' completeness category obtained a score of 84.85 and categorized as complete. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the application of HOTS questions is declared effective for improving problem solving skills in physics learning, where the average absorption rate obtained by students is 84.85,
