<![CDATA[Abandoned children are one of the serious problems faced by the Indonesian nation. According to the Minister of Social Affairs, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, as quoted by Tribun News, the number of abandoned children in Indonesia reached 4.1 million children. In Law No. 23 of 2002, abandoned children are children who are not fulfilled their needs fairly, whether physical, mental, spiritual, and social. This study aims to reveal the rights of abandoned children contained in the Qur’an by using terma yatim. This research uses thematic method (mauḍū‘i)̄ which has been formulated by al-Farmā wi in the book al-Bidā yah fi Tafsi r al-Mauḍū’i, While the analysis used is a language and historical analysis. From the results of data processing, it can be concluded several important points are: first, that terma yatim in the Qur’an not only includes children left by the father / mother before he is independent, but, more than that, m may include other displaced children. Second, the rights of abandoned children can be divided into two parts: the immaterial right (ḥuqū q al-ma’nawiyah) contained in Makkiyah verses and material rights (ḥuqū q al-madiyah) contained in the verses Madāniyah.]]>
