In Indonesia, elections become the legitimacy that determines the ruling government. Which of course depends on the quality of socialization and political education. This study will examine the effect of political socialization on novice voters in East Jakarta in 2019. The object of the research is 17 year. The concept used as an analytical tool is the concept of socialization and participation. Socialization is carried out by the East Jakarta KPU by providing political education . While the participation of novice voters is measured through the level of understanding, political awareness, participation of novice voters. The method used is a quantitative approach, through an ex-post facto research design, and the type of exploratory research. There were 219 respondents as the research sample from students who were categorized as novice voters and received political socialization from the East Jakarta KPU. From the results of the F test, it was found, First there is the influence of the (X1) on the (Y1). Second, there is the influence of the (X1) on the (Y2). However, the results of this study also provide a finding that the quality of delivery of political socialization materials does not encourage novice voters to participate in politics.
