<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the prohibition of lusan marriages based on an overview of the Islamic religion and the views of the community in Tulungagung Regency starting from religious leaders, village elders, teenagers, and according to the community as perpetrators of the ban on lusan marriages. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection was carried out using interview techniques, documentation and literature study. Literature study is used to obtain secondary data regarding the prohibition of lusan marriage from an Islamic perspective. Results of the data analysis, it was found that the existence of public trust in the prohibition of lusan marriages is still very strong. Even so, some people also view the lusan wedding tradition as just a culture that develops within the Kejawen community. Viewed from the aspect of the Islamic religion, the prohibition of lusan marriage is included in 'urf al-fasid because this tradition is contrary to the Islamic religion which wants convenience for its adherents. The tradition of banning lusan marriages also causes harm because this custom is not built on the basis of hujjah which is in accordance with the Islamic religion and only refers to the views of the ancestors.]]>
