PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL GALUR-GALUR F2 TANAMAN JAGUNG (Zeea mays L.) DI LAHAN KERING

Abstract

Increasing maize production is done by utilizing all available planting land, one of which is by intensifying and extensifying dry land. To release new seeds in the form of lines into varieties, agronomic studies are needed. This study aims to determine the growth and yield of 15 selected lines of F2 maize (Zea mays L.) compared to their parents and the national variety Lamuru planted on dry land. The experiment was conducted from November 2022 to March 2023 in Segara Katon Village, Gangga District, North Lombok Regency. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with a total of 19 treatments, namely 15 F2 lines; 3 parental varieties; and 1 composite variety in dryland. The experiment was repeated three times to obtain 57 experimental units. The results showed that there were several F2 lines of maize plants that had better growth when compared to the parental varieties and national variety Lamuru in dryland. There is an F2 strain that has a higher yield, J50, when compared to its parents and the national variety Lamuru. The J50 line and 12 other F2 lines, other than J40 and J42, can be suggested for the establishment of a base population to create superior dryland varieties.INTISARIPeningkatan produksi jagung dilakukan dengan memberdayakan seluruh lahan tanam yang ada, salah satunya adalah dengan melakukan intensifikasi dan ekstensifikasi lahan kering. Untuk melepas benih baru yang berupa galur menjadi varietas diperlukan kajian secara agronomi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan hasil 15 galur terpilih tanaman F2 jagung (Zea mays L.) dibandingkan dengan tetuanya dan varietas nasional Lamuru yang ditanam di lahan kering. Percobaan dilakukan dari bulan November 2022 sampai bulan Maret 2023 di Desa Segara Katon, Kecamatan Gangga, Kabupaten Lombok Utara. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan jumlah perlakuan sebanyak 19 perlakuan yaitu 15 galur F2; 3 varietas tetua; dan 1 varietas komposit di lahan kering. Percobaan diulang tiga kali sehingga diperoleh 57 unit percobaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa galur F2 tanaman jagung yang lebih baik pertumbuhannya jika dibandingkan dengan varietas tetua dan varietas nasional Lamuru di lahan kering. Terdapat galur F2 yang memiliki daya hasil lebih tinggi, yaitu J50, jika dibandingkan varietas tetua dan varietas nasional Lamuru. Galur J50 dan 12 galur F2 lainnya, selain J40 dan J42 dapat disarankan untuk pembentukan populasi dasar untuk membuat varietas unggul lahan kering.
