<![CDATA[ABSTRACT Appendicitis in general is inflammation due to infection in the appendix or tufts of worms (appendix). The level of one's knowledge has a positive relationship to the compliance of the diit that someone feels. If the knowledge of the concept of appendicitis is expected to influence the patient's actions in managing the disease, knowledge of the concept of disease and compliance is also important for the patient, the more positive the patient's attitude towards managing appendicitis, the better the practice of appendicitis patients in preventing more complications serious. This makes the level of knowledge against adherence to appendicitis diit reduced. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of knowledge to adherence of diit in appendicitis patients in the surgical clinic of RSUD dr. Abdul Azis Singkawang in 2019. Correlation research using a cross sectional research design with a sample of 35 respondents with consecutive sampling and measurement methods using a questionnaire measuring instrument. From the results of research with statistical tests using ChiSquare obtained the value of ρ = 0.007 means that it is smaller than the value of ρ = 0.1. This value shows that there is a relationship between knowledge on adherence of diit in appendicitis patients in the poly surgery at RSUD dr. Abdul AzisSingkawang in 2019. The conclusion is that most appendicitis patients have insufficient knowledge of poor compliance with diit. His advice is that it is expected that the leaders and staff at the Poli Surgery Hospital of Dr. Abdul Azis Singkawang, in order to be able to provide better nursing education to patients with appendicitis on diit compliance in order to reduce the lack of patient non-compliance with the right dii, and minimize further complications. ABSTRAK Apendisitis secara umum adalah peradangan akibat infeksi pada usus buntu atau umbai cacing (apendiks).Tingkat pengetahuan seseorang memiliki hubungan positif terhadap kepatuhan diit yang dirasakan seseorang. Jika pengetahuan tentang konsep penyakit apendisitis baik diharapkan akan mempengaruhi tindakan pasien dalam mengelola penyakit. Oleh karena itu pengetahuan tentang konsep penyakit dan kepatuhan diit juga penting bagi pasien, semakin positif sikap pasien dalam menghadapi pengelolaan apendisitis, maka semakin baik praktik pasien apendisitis dalam mencegah komplikasi lebih serius. Hal ini membuat tingkat pengetahuan terhadap kepatuhan diit apendisitis berkurang. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan terhadap kepatuhan diit pada pasien apendisitis di poli bedah RSUD dr. Abdul Azis Singkawang tahun 2019. Penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian asosiatif dengan jenis penelitian Analitik Korelasi menggunakan desain penelitian cross sectional dengan jumlah sampel 35 responden dengan metode consecutive sampling dan pengukuran menggunakan alat ukur kuisioner. Dari hasil penilitian dengan pengujian statistic dengan menggunakan Chi-Square diperoleh nilai ρ=0,007 ini berarti lebih kecil dari nilai ρ=0,1. Nilai ini menunjukkan terdapat hubungan pengetahuan terhadap kepatuhan diit pada pasien apendisitis di poli bedah RSUD dr. Abdul Azis Singkawang tahun 2019. Kesimpulan yaitu sebagian besar pasien apendisitis memiliki pengetahuan kurang dengan kepatuhan diit yang kurang. Sarannya yaitu diharapkan pimpinan maupun staf di Poli Bedah RSUD dr. Abdul AzisSingkawang, supayadapatmemberikanedukasikeperawatan yang lebih baik lagi kepada pasien apendisitis terhadap kepatuhan diit agar dapat mengurangi kurangnya ketidakpatuhan pasien terhadap diit yang tepat, serta meminimalkan komplikasi lebih lanjut.
