Patients with schizophrenia generally experience significant impairment in daily functioning, requiring them to be cared for by their families. Caring for schizophrenia patients can be a stressor for families. While caring for the patient, the family feels tired, restless, feelings of anger and resentment arise, rest time is disrupted, spending a lot of energy to care for the patient. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of family stress in caring for schizophrenia patients in the Psychiatric Polyclinic of Indramayu Hospital. This study used a descriptive method. The sample in this study were families who cared for schizophrenia patients who came to the Polyclinic totaling 207 respondents. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling. The instrument in this study used a modified Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10) questionnaire. The results showed that 187 (90.3%) respondents experienced moderate stress, 14 (6.8%) experienced mild stress and 6 (2.9%) experienced severe stress. It is expected that health workers can assess the causes of stress and provide interventions to reduce stress in families caring for schizophrenia patients
