THE MAPPING OF EMOTIONS IN KIDUNG PUJADHARMA RATRI CEDANA

This writing focuses on the translation of emotion concepts in Kidung Pujadharma Ratri Cedana written by Ki Cenanrok by applying the Natural Semantic Metalanguage (NSM) approach. Based on the analysis of the category of emotion concepts, there are only two categories found, namely good and bad things. The English lexicon denotes ‘good things’ that happened, are happening, will or can happen, showing good feelings of the experiencer covering beauty. The Indonesian lexicon denoting ‘something good happened’ is keindahan. The concept related to ‘bad things that happened’ found in its Indonesia tranlation is sedih.
