Abstract

Impacted teeth are those with a delayed or that are not expected to erupt completely according to the clinical and radiographic findings. Majority of patients with one or more impacted teeth were up to 30 years old and rarely found in edentulous. It is re-ported about management a rare case of multiple impacted teeth in mandibular partial edentulous. A 51 years-old female was referred from Department of Prosthodontics for removal of multiple impacted teeth in mandibular edentulous. The clinical exa-mination, partial edentulous on the right and left of mandibular region. Radiography examination, bilateral impacted mandibu-lar first premolar and supernumerary teeth on left mandibular premolar region. The treatment was surgical removal under ge-neral anesthesia. Surgical removal was performed by buccal and lingual approach. There was absence of pain and excellent wound healing on the seventh day post surgery, however there was a symptom of paresthesia in the left lower lip and mental region. The vertical distance of the mental foramen is difficult to determine in conditions of mandibular edentulous with ex-cessive alveolar bone resorption. The patient given oral mecobalamin and the paresthesia symptoms disappeared 3 months postoperative. Surgical removal of impacted teeth in mandibular partial edentulous with excessive alveolar bone resorption have high risk of paresthesia.
