Abstract

Keberadaan lukisan dinding gua di Kalimantan Timur yang mulai ditemukan sekitar tahun 1990an, merupakan penemuan baru dan merubah wawasan pengetahuan arkeologi di Indonesia. Beraneka jenis gambar ada di dinding guagua di kawasan karst Sangkulirang Mangkalihat. Telapak tangan merupakan jenis gambar yang paling dominan di kawasan situs ini, dengan berbagai bentuk dan variasinya. Penelitian ini akan membahas hubungan antara jenis gambar yang ada dan waktu pembuatannya secara relatif. Metode yang digunakan bersifat deskriptif. Penentuan kronologi didasarkan pada perbedaan jenis gambar dan kebiasaan yang dilakukan dalam budaya rock-art pada umumnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses pembuatan lukisan dinding pada masa lalu dilakukan secara berurutan.   The existence of rock-art in East Kalimantan discovered around the 1990s became a new invention that changes the insight archeology in Indonesia. Various kinds of figures were found on the cave-walls in the karst region of Sangkulirang Mangkalihat. The palms are the most dominant type on the site, with a variety of shapes and forms. This study will discuss the relationship between the existence types of images and the time when it was created in relative terms. The method used is descriptive. The chronology determination is based on the difference types of images and habits thatoccured in the rock-art culture in general. The results showed that the process of painting the cave-walls in the past carriedout sequentially.
