INCREASING THE ACHIEVEMENT OF EXCLUSIVE BREASTFEEDING THROUGH STRENGTHENING THE SKILLS OF HEALTH CADRES

Abstract

Abstrak: Saat ini Indonesia mengalami permasalahan gizi yang kompleks, dimana kekurangan dan kelebihan gizi terjadi dalam waktu yang bersamaan. Data dari survei SSGI diperoleh permasalahan gizi yang banyak di alami balita Indonesia yaitu stunting 21,6%, Underweight 17,1%, wasting 7,7% dan overweight 3,5%. Penelitian menunjukkan menunjukkan bahwa breastfeeding self-efficacy merupakan dominan factor yang mempengaruhi kepuasan ibu menyusui yang dapat berdampak pada pemberian ASI yang pada akhirnya mempengaruhi gizi bayi dan balita. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan kader Kesehatan dalam pendampingan ibu menyusui. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di Puskesmas Dolo dengan dihadiri kader Kesehatan sebanyak 18 orang. Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi dan praktik. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat diperoleh melalui analisis kuesioner Pre – test dan Post – test, berupa terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan kader kesehatan tentang ASI eksklusif dari 10 pernyatan terdapat 7 pernyataan yang < 50% dan setelah dilakukan penyuluhan dan praktik terjadi peningkatan pada pernyataan tersebut >60%. Sedangkan untuk variable dukungan kader kesehatan terhadap ibu menyusui terjadi peningkatan dari 22,22% menjadi 78%.Abstract: Currently, Indonesia is facing complex nutritional issues, where both deficiencies and excesses occur simultaneously. Data from the SSGI survey shows that the prevalent nutritional problems among Indonesian toddlers are stunting at 21.6%, underweight at 17.1%, wasting at 7.7%, and overweight at 3.5%. Research indicates that breastfeeding self-efficacy is a dominant factor influencing breastfeeding satisfaction, which can impact breastfeeding practices and, ultimately, infant and toddler nutrition. The objective of this community service activity is to enhance the skills of Health cadres in supporting breastfeeding mothers. The activity took place at the Dolo Community Health Center with the participation of 18 Health cadres. The methods used were socialization and practice. The results of the community service were obtained through the analysis of Pre-test and Post-test questionnaires, showing an increase in the health cadres' knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding. Before the intervention, only 3 out of 10 statements had a response rate of <50%, but after the intervention, more than 60% of respondents agreed with those statements. Moreover, there was an increase in the health cadres' support towards breastfeeding mothers, rising from 22.22% to 78%.
