Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Diarrhea is a condition where a person defecates with a soft or liquid consistency, it can even be just water and the frequency is more frequent (usually three times a day or more) in one day. If not treated properly, diarrhea will cause more serious problems, including death. Objective: To analyze the relationship between clean and healthy living behavior in mothers as an effort to reduce the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers. Method: This research method uses a case control study design and uses a purposive sampling technique. The independent variable is clean and healthy living behavior, the dependent variable is the incidence of diarrhea. Statistical tests use SPSS version 25 and the Mann-Withney test. Results: The statistical test results obtained a value (calculated α) = < 0.05, meaning that there is a relationship between maternal Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) and the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers. Conclusion: Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) is really needed to influence the behavior of family members regarding clean and healthy living behavior. So that family members are healthy and do not get sick easily and the role of health workers is also needed to carry out health education so that family members understand more about clean and healthy living behavior..
