Gresik district's green open spaces are still far from the proportionate value established in the local laws and regulations. There are many causes, but local governments have not been quiet about it, of course many strategies that have been designed to meet the green open spaces proportion in Gresik district. The goal of this study is to identify the principles of good environmental governance in Gresik district. The study used descriptive qualitative research methods. Research shows that: 1) participation in green open space management in Gresik district consists of 3 (three) synergizing parties (1) government, (2) private sector (3) and civil society. 2) rule of law, there are many rules that act as a references of green open spaces management in Gresik district that are derivative in nature, for specific regulations in Gresik district is PERDA 10 of 2010 which is about the setting of green open spaces. But that ordinance still has not been adequate to implement an entire green open spaces system.. 3) transparency, the are transparency of public information and transparency in policy-making policies about green open spaces management in Gresik district, but indeed the availability of information about green open spaces in Gresik district is still lacking in completeness and clarity.
