Crime among young people in Palembang City has become an increasingly concerning issue. This phenomenon includes a wide range of crimes ranging from theft to drugs, which show,s an alarming upward trend. This study aims to analyze the factors that drive crime among young people in Palembang, as well as their impact on society and urban development. The study uses a combination of interviews, surveys, and statistical data analysis to identify the root causes of youth crime. Some of the factors identified include economic inequality, lack of access to education, and low levels of social awareness. The results of the analysis also highlight the negative impact of criminalization on public safety, city image, and economic development potential.
