UPAYA GURU MENGATASI LEARNING LOSS MATA PELAJARAN IPS DI SMP NEGER 24 SEMARANG

Abstract

Learning loss is a problem that occurs in learning where the learning achievements and competencies of students are not in accordance with the policies set by the curriculum. When learning loss occurs, students lose knowledge and skills on a small or large scale, both in general and specifically. The Covid-19 pandemic has caused social studies learning at SMP Negeri 24 Semarang to be carried out online from March 2020 to January 2022, resulting in learning loss. The existence of learning loss problems makes social studies teachers try to solve these problems. This study uses a qualitative method with a grounded theory approach. Data collection is done by interview, observation, and documentation. The results of the study show that social studies teachers have made efforts to overcome learning loss. The teacher's efforts include online efforts with prevention efforts, curative efforts, and adaptation efforts supported by government policies. After online learning, social studies teachers also make various efforts including managing face-to-face social studies learning, using various learning strategies, and evaluating learning. Learning loss merupakan problematika yang terjadi dalam pembelajaran dimana capaian pembelajaran dan kompetensi peserta didik tidak sesuai dengan kebijakan yang telah ditetapkan oleh kurikulum. Saat terjadi learning loss peserta didik kehilangan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan dalam skala kecil maupun besar, baik secara umum maupun khusus. Pandemi covid-19 menyebabkan pembelajaran IPS di SMP Negeri 24 Semarang dilaksanakan secara daring mulai maret 2020 sampai januari 2022 sehingga mengakibatkan learning loss. Adanya permasalahan learning loss membuat guru IPS berusaha menyelesaikan problematika tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan grounded theory. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada upaya yang dilakukan oleh guru IPS untuk mengatasi learning loss. Upaya guru tersebut meliputi upaya pada saat daring dengan upaya pencegahan, upaya kuratif, serta upaya adaptasi yang didukung oleh kebijakan pemerintah. Pasca pembelajaran daring guru IPS juga melakukan berbagai upaya diantaranya pengelolaan pembelajaran IPS secara tatap muka, penggunaan berbagai strategi pembelajaran, serta evaluasi pembelajaran.
