Abstract

ABSTRAKLimbah minyak goreng atau minyak jelantah seringkali mencemari lingkungan jika tidak diolah dengan baik. Pemanfaatan limbah minyak jelantah menjadi produk-produk yang bernilai ekonomi menjadi salah satu cara menyelamatkan lingkungan dari pencemaran limbah minyak jelantah. Kegiatan pengabdian ini mengambil tema pemanfaatan limbah minyak jelantah menjadi lilin aromaterapi yang memiliki nilai ekonomi bagi warga Kampung Sindang Barang, Desa Pasir Eurih, Kecamatan Tamansari, Kabupaten Bogor. Kegiatan ini dilakukan menggunakan metode pelatihan kepada warga untuk dapat mengolah minyak jelantah menjadi lilin aromaterapi serta menjualnya pada platform e-commerce. Dari kegiatan tersebut sebanyak 18 peserta kegiatan yang merupakan warga Kampung Sindang Barang berhasil mengolah minyak jelantah sisa pemakaian rumah tangga menjadi lilin aromaterapi dengan berbagai macam aroma. Para peserta juga telah berhasil melakukan penjualan lilin aromaterapi di berbagai platform e-commerce sehingga dapat meningkatkan nilai ekonomi para peserta. ABSTRACTWaste cooking oil often pollutes the environment if it is not processed properly. Utilizing used cooking oil waste into products with economic value is one way to save the environment from used cooking oil waste pollution. This community service activity takes the theme of using used cooking oil waste to make aromatherapy candles which have economic value for the residents of Kampung Sindang Barang, Pasir Eurih Village, Tamansari District, Bogor Regency. This activity was carried out using training methods for residents to be able to process waste cooking oil into aromatherapy candles and sell them on e-commerce platforms. The results of this activity were that the activity participants who were residents of Sindang Barang Village succeeded in processing used cooking oil left over from household use into aromatherapy candles with various aromas. The participants have also succeeded in selling aromatherapy candles on various e-commerce platforms so as to increase the economic value of the participants.
