This research aims to determine students' abilities in solving story problems in high, medium and low levels of social arithmetic material based on Polya's steps. In this qualitative descriptive research, the main role is played by the researchers as the main instrument. Meanwhile, the different tools Reworded, the methods employed include written examinations and interview sessions. This research was conducted at Budi Bakti Utama Middle School. VIIC class students became the subject of this research. The division of subjects in the research was carried out involving one individual with high ability (ST), one individual with medium ability (SS), and one individual with low ability (SR). The selection of this subject is based on their math achievements in one semester. The results of this research indicate Rephrased, the competencies of students in solving mathematical problems can be grouped into three categories, namely students who have high, medium and low abilities.
