Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas plankton Embung Tirtoagung, kualitas fisika kimia perairan dan status ekosistem Embung Tirtoagung, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di 5 stasiun dengan 2 ulangan dalam rentang waktu satu minggu. Air sampel yang telah tersaring kemudian dimasukkan dalam botol flakon dan dilakukan pengamatan di Laboratorium Biologi FMIPA UNY. Struktur komunitas plankton yang terdapat di Embung Tirtoagung terdiri dari 20 jenis plankton yang terdiri dari 12 jenis fitoplankton dan 8 jenis zoo plankton. Nilai keanekaragaman yang masuk dalam kategori sedang diikuti dengan dominasi rendah menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada spesies yang mendominasi. Kualitas air berdasarkan hasil uji fisikokimia masih memenuhi persyaratan baku mutu air kelas III. Berdasarkan analisis dan perhitungan struktur komunitas plankton, dapat diketahui bahwa status ekosistem Embung Tirtoagung termasuk dalam kategori perairan mesotrofik hingga eutrofik dengan tingkat temuan yang lebih tinggi dari filum Chlorophyta dibandingkan dengan kelompok fitoplankton lainnya. Kondisi perairan mesotrofik hingga eutrofik dipengaruhi oleh tingginya kadar nitrat dan fosfat.Kata kunci: Embung Tirtoagung, plankton, struktur komunitasThis study aims to determine the structure of the Tirtoagung Embung plankton community, the physical and chemical quality of the waters and the ecosystem status of the Tirtoagung Embung, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Sampling was carried out at 5 stations with 2 replications within one week. The filtered water sample was then put in a flakon bottle and observed at the Biology Laboratory of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UNY. The plankton community structure in Embung Tirtoagung consists of 20 types of plankton consisting of 12 types of phytoplankton and 8 types of zooplankton. Diversity values that fall into the medium category followed by low dominance indicate that no species dominates. Water quality based on the results of physicochemical tests still meets the requirements of class III water quality standards. Based on the analysis and calculation of the plankton community structure, it can be seen that the ecosystem status of Tirtoagung Embung is included in the category of mesotrophic to eutrophic waters with a higher level of findings from the phylum Chlorophyta compared to other phytoplankton groups. Mesotrophic to eutrophic water conditions are influenced by high levels of nitrate and phosphate. Keywords: Embung Tirtoagung, plankton, community structure
