Background: Cesarean delivery shows an increasing trend from year to year. This action is directly proportional to the increase in the incidence of surgical wound infections (SSI). This is a serious problem because it can cause increased morbidity and even the risk of death. Post is the condition afterward, so post-cesarean section (Post SC) is the condition after surgery on the abdominal wall and uterine wall to give birth to a baby weighing more than 500 grams. This study aims to determine the incidence of surgical wound infections after cesarean section at the Kendari City Regional General Hospital. Method: The research method uses quantitative research methods based on a cross-sectional approach, data collected in the period January-August 2023 at the Kendari City Regional Hospital. Conclusions: The results of the study showed that patients diagnosed with surgical wound infections after cesarean section (post-SC+ILO) at the Kendari City Regional Hospital experienced a fluctuating increase every month. The highest post-SC+ILO diagnosis of patients occurred in July at 31.25%, while the lowest occurred in January at 3.12%. Most of the patients diagnosed post-SC+ILO were in the 20-35 year age category, amounting to 71.9%, while age < 20 years was 9.4% and age > 35 years was 18.8%. Thus, the determinant of maternal age which is a significant factor in the incidence of surgical wound infections after cesarean section (post-SC+ILO) is the healthy reproductive age group.
