Childbirth is an important event in a woman's life that can have an impact on her physical, emotional, and psychosocial well-being. The husband, as the most common companion during childbirth, plays a significant role in the successful and safe delivery, reducing complications for the newborn, and facilitating the childbirth process. The readiness of the husband to become a birth companion can be nurtured through knowledge about the role of support during childbirth. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between husbands' knowledge about support during childbirth and their willingness to become birth companions in the Babakan Asih Subdistrict, Bandung City. The study sample consisted of 68 husbands of pregnant women and postpartum mothers with infants aged 6 months and below in the Babakan Asih Subdistrict. Data analysis was conducted using frequency distribution and chi-square tests with a significance level (alpha) of 0.05. The results of the study showed that almost all respondents (94.1%) had sufficient knowledge about support during childbirth. Nearly all respondents (86.8%) were willing to become birth companions for their wives. The chi-square test analysis resulted in a p-value of 0.082 > 0.05, indicating that there was no significant relationship between husbands' knowledge about support during childbirth and their willingness to become birth companions. Other factors that can influence husbands' attitudes towards becoming birth companions include personal experience, influence from important individuals, social influence, cultural influence, media influence, educational and religious institutions, and emotional factors.
