Abstract

Administrative law plays a crucial role in governing government administration, including in the context of the roles and responsibilities of public officials. The analysis of legal perspectives on the roles of public officials is essential to understand the legal foundation regulating their behavior and decisions in carrying out public service duties. This research adopts a normative legal approach by collecting data from various sources of administrative law, including laws, regulations, and relevant court decisions. Critical analysis is conducted to comprehend the legal perspectives on the roles of public officials and their implications in administrative practices. A comprehensive literature review is undertaken to construct a conceptual framework based on relevant administrative law theories. The literature review encompasses various views from administrative law experts regarding the responsibilities, authorities, and ethics of public officials. The research findings identify the administrative law perspectives on the roles of public officials, including limitations on authority, ethical obligations, and accountability. In-depth analysis is conducted on cases reflecting current challenges and issues in administrative practices, providing a profound understanding of the dynamic relationship between the law and public officials.
