Tingkat Pengetahuan Ibu Terhadap Pemberian ASI Eksklusif Pada Bayi Usia 0-6 Bulan: Level of Mother's Knowledge Regarding Exclusive Breastfeeding for Babies Aged 0-6 Months

Abstract

Introduction: Breast milk provides immunity against several diseases. These facts prove that exclusive breastfeeding plays an important role in maintaining children's health where breast milk is a liquid that is created to meet the nutritional needs of infants and protect them against possible disease attacks. Breastfeeding has such great benefits unfortunately, only a few mothers want or give exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months. Methods: The research design used in this study is a descriptive cross-sectional correlation design. The population in this study were breastfeeding mothers at the Kelapa Gading District Health Center, Jakarta. The number of samples is 50 people. The sampling technique uses total sampling. The research instrument uses a questionnaire. In this study, the analysis used the chi-square test. Results: Regarding the distribution of the knowledge level of mothers at the Kelapa Gading District Health Center, the majority of knowledge is low, with 40 respondents (92%) enough; 7 respondents (14%); and 3 respondents (6%). The majority of mothers' education is SMA/SMK 24 respondents (48%). Middle school 17 respondents (34%); and D3 6 respondents (12%). S1 number of 3 respondents (6%). The majority of IRT mothers are 35 respondents (70%), 15 respondents (30%) are self-employed 23 respondents (46%) are aged 20-25 years, and 26-30 years are 16 respondents (32%). The age of the mother is 31-40 years, there are 11 respondents (22%). the majority of breastfeeding is not exclusive as many as 39 respondents (78%); and exclusively many 11 respondents (22%). The relationship between the level of mothers' knowledge and breastfeeding resulted in a p-value of 0,042. Discussion: There is an overview of the level of knowledge of mothers on exclusive breastfeeding in infants aged 0-6 months.
