This study aims to find out: (1) to find out why the panai money in Kajang Lalang Embayya is high even though it has the kamase-mase life principle in the Kajang Lalang Embayya community in Bulukumba Regency. (2) The meaning of panai money for the Kajang Lalang Embayya community in Bulukumba Regency. This study uses a type of qualitative research which is analyzed and written descriptively. Data collection techniques were carried out using the methods of observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the cause of the high Panai money in Kajang Lalang Embayya even though it had the kamase-mase principle of life, namely increasing market prices, long traditional processions and as a form of appreciation to women's families. The meaning of Panai money for the Kajang Lalang Embayya community is to show the social status of the community, preserve the black sarong culture and as the identity of the Kajang Lalang Embayya community.
