This study aims to examine changes in the dowry value of Bugis marriages when they first recognized the dowry with current conditions. In this study, the researcher used descriptive qualitative research. The informants selected were from among traditional leaders, the people of Kaliang Village who had participated and participated in this activity. The researcher then collected data by conducting observations, interviews and collecting documentation. The results of this study indicate that there is a change in the value of the dowry in this present condition, especially in the Kaliang Village community initially using the old currency system, namely the ringgit, besides that people often use coconut trees or rice fields as dowries.
