<![CDATA[ABSTRAKMumblecore adalah sebuah pendekatan/gaya film independen yang berlangsung pada awal tahun 2000-an di Amerika Serikat. Mumblecore tetap berkembang dan memiliki kekhasannya sendiri di tengah akuisisi film-film independen oleh studio besar Hollywood. Hal tersebut menjadikan Mumblecore menarik untuk diteliti. Objek dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 24 judul film. Film-film tersebut akan dikaji menggunakan teori Repertoire of Elements yang dirumuskan oleh Nick Lacey dalam bukunya “Narrative and Genre: Key Concept in Media Studies.” Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif, dan dilanjutkan dengan analisis isi terbatas. Semua film akan dibedah karakteristik narasi, tokoh, latar, ikonografi, dan style. Setelah semua film dibedah akan dikerucutkan karakteristik dari film-film Mumblecore 2002-2010. Setelah ditemukan karakteristiknya, akan dianalisa konstruksi genre dari masing-masing film menggunakan formula dari genre yang terindikasi, yaitu drama, romansa, komedi, kriminal, perjalanan, horor, dan musikal. Melalui konstruksi genre ini, akan diketahui eksplorasi genre pada film-film Mumblecore 2002-2010. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik film-film Mumblecore 2002-2010 berfokus pada narasi tentang hubungan antar manusia, terutama permasalahan percintaan, digarap dengan teknis cenderung natural dan sederhana, yang masih mengikuti kaidah pembuatan film secara umum. Sementara itu, eksplorasi genre film-film Mumblecore 2002-2010 dapat dikatakan minim, karena kecenderungan genre yang muncul adalah Romance. Mumblecore continues to grow and have its own distinctiveness amidst the acquisition of independent films by major Hollywood studios. This makes Mumblecore interesting to research. The objects in this research consist of 24 films. These films will be studied using the Repertoire of Elements theory formulated by Nick Lacey in his book "Narrative and Genre: Key Concept in Media Studies." The research method used was qualitative research, and continued with limited content analysis. All films will be dissected for narrative characteristics, characters, setting, iconography and style. After all the films have been dissected, the characteristics of the Mumblecore films from 2002-2010 will be narrowed down. After finding the characteristics, the genre construction of each film will be analyzed using a formula for the indicated genres, consisting of drama, romance, comedy, crime, road-movie, horror and musical. Through this genre construction, genre exploration in Mumblecore films 2002-2010 will be known. The results of the research show that the characteristics of Mumblecore films from 2002-2010 focus on narratives about relationships between people, especially love issues, which are handled technically and tend to be natural and simple, which still follow general filmmaking rules.
