The distribution of inheritance in the Riau Malay traditional tribe, especially in the Pelalawan Regency area, has an inheritance distribution system adapted from Islamic law. The distribution of inheritance in Malay customs uses the concept of gender-equitable distribution, where both men and women receive equal shares of inheritance through mutual consensus between the recipients of the inheritance in front of the traditional leader. The research method in this article uses qualitative methods and juridical analysis based on the iCompilation of Islamic Law. Key words: Inheritance, Malay customs, legal basis
