Workload is a person's ability to accept a job that can cause complaints from patients and result in decreased service quality and patient satisfaction. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between workload and therapeutic communication to patient satisfaction in the class III inpatient room of Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province. The study used quantitative research with a correlation study approach with respondents 53 patients and 40 nurses in the Edelwis and Dahlia Class III Inpatient Rooms. The research instruments used Workload questionnaires and Observation Sheets for nurses and Patient Satisfaction questionnaires. The analysis used was univariate analysis using frequency distribution test and bivariate analysis using chi square person test. The results of the frequency distribution test found that the most patient satisfaction category was quite satisfied with the number of 31 respondents, the results of the chi square test showed that the variable relationship between nurse workload and patient satisfaction was that there was no relationship with a p value of 0.182. Then for therapeutic communication with patient satisfaction has no significant relationship with a p value of 0.416. It is expected that nurses can pay attention to patients from therapeutic communication towards patients and hospitals transfer nurses to class III inpatient rooms in order to reduce the workload experienced by nurses in the Class III Inpatient Room of Arifin Achmad Hospital Riau Province.
