Abstract - In the current millennial era, electrical energy remains a fundamental need to sustain human activities. But on the other hand, electrical energy can also be dangerous if it is not equipped with a protection system in its application. The protection system is one of the systems in the electric power system that aims to anticipate as well as secure the possibility of disturbances occurring in the electric power system. This research is a design of an overcurrent protection monitoring system using a current transformer (PZEM-004T sensor) based on a microcontroller and the Internet of Things. This system consists of an Arduino AT-Mega 328 microcontroller, a PZEM-004T sensor, a relay module, a NodeMCU ESP8266 WiFi module, mySql as a database server and Google web browser software as an application to access monitoring websites for protection systems on the internet. The research method used is the quantitative research method and experimental metthod. Tests carried out by measuring the PZEM-004T sensor, testing system reliability and monitoring system performance on the website. Where are the results from testing the PZEM-004T sensor and the data displayed on the website has an error percentage of approximately 6.4%. In testing the protection system with 3 different current protection set point values, the average circuit breaking time was 171.6 milliseconds.
