The involvement of committees in education in schools is needed to improve the quality of education. However, the existence of school committees has not been maximized in carrying out its role as collaborating community aspirations for schools or education. Based on that, this study aims to describe the role of the committee in improving the quality of education at SMPN 1 Kelumbayan. The research method used in this research is qualitative research with interview and observation techniques. The results showed that the role of the committee at SPMN 1 Kelumbayan; (1) as a consideration in preparing the RKS / RKT and changes to RAPBS; (2) as a supporter of school activities and the preparation of the school's vision and mission; (3) as a supervisor of discipline and graduate results; (4) as a liaison between the school and parents and the community. Based on the research results, it is concluded that the committee at SMPN 1 Kelumbayan has carried out its role actively in helping schools to improve the quality of education at SMPN 1 Kelumbayan.
