Transformasi Digital: Peran E-Commerce dalam Pertumbuhan Ekonomi Digital di Indonesia

Abstract

Abstract: This research examines the role of e-commerce in driving digital economic growth in Indonesia. Digital transformation has fundamentally changed Indonesia's economic landscape, with e-commerce being one of its main drivers. Using a qualitative approach based on a literature study, this research analyzes how the development of information and communication technology has facilitated the growth of e-commerce platforms and created a dynamic digital economy ecosystem. Data shows that Indonesia will have 212.9 million internet users (77% of the population) by early 2023, with e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, Tokopedia, and Lazada leading the market. E-commerce provides various benefits to businesses, including global market access, reduced operational costs, and encouragement of product innovation. Furthermore, e-commerce facilitates supply chain integration and cross-border business collaboration. Projections show that by 2025, Indonesia's digital economy will create 3.7 million new jobs and increase SME revenues by 80 percent. The research concludes that e-commerce plays a strategic role in Indonesia's digital transformation, with significant potential to drive inclusive economic growth in the digital age.Abstrak: Penelitian ini mengkaji peran e-commerce dalam mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi digital di Indonesia. Transformasi digital telah mengubah secara fundamental lanskap perekonomian Indonesia, dengan e-commerce menjadi salah satu pendorong utamanya. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif berbasis studi literatur, penelitian ini menganalisis bagaimana perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi telah memfasilitasi pertumbuhan platform e-commerce dan menciptakan ekosistem ekonomi digital yang dinamis. Data menunjukkan bahwa Indonesia memiliki 212,9 juta pengguna internet (77% dari populasi) pada awal 2023, dengan platform e-commerce seperti Shopee, Tokopedia, dan Lazada memimpin pasar. E-commerce memberikan berbagai keuntungan bagi pelaku usaha, termasuk akses pasar global, pengurangan biaya operasional, dan dorongan inovasi produk. Lebih jauh lagi, e-commerce memfasilitasi integrasi rantai pasok dan kolaborasi bisnis lintas batas. Proyeksi menunjukkan bahwa pada tahun 2025, ekonomi digital Indonesia akan menciptakan 3,7 juta lapangan kerja baru dan meningkatkan pendapatan UMKM hingga 80 persen. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa e-commerce memainkan peran strategis dalam transformasi digital Indonesia, dengan potensi signifikan untuk mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi inklusif di era digital.
