<![CDATA[Water is one of the primary needs in life. Petang subdistrict of Badung regency, especially the northern plateau region is dominated by hills and forests as a water catchment areas. The research aims to identify the distribution of archaeological remains and springs located in this region. Survey method and observation carried out to find the water source and distribution of archaeological remains. The research done also from interviews and literature study. Data were analyzed with qualitative, contextual, and comparative reduction methods. Water sources and archaeological remains are located mostly along the watershed, shaped as petirthaan, ponds, dikes and channels. The spring has a ritual and profane function.Air merupakan salah satu kebutuhan utama dalam kehidupan. Wilayah Kecamatan Petang didominasi oleh perbukitan dan hamparan hutan sekaligus sebagai daerah tangkapan air. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi sebaran tinggalan arkeologi dan sumber mata air yang terdapat di wilayah ini. Metode survei dan observasi dilakukan untuk memperoleh gambaran sebaran sumber mata air dan tinggalan arkeologi. Selain itu dilakukan juga wawancara dan studi pustaka. Data dianalisis dengan metode kualitatif, kontekstual, reduksi, dan komparatif. Sumber mata air dan tinggalan arkeologi sebagian besar terletak di sepanjang daerah aliran sungai. Mata air tersebut memiliki fungsi ritual dan profan.]]>
