This research aims to determine the effect of the monopoly game on the early reading abilities of young children at the Mentari Bontoa Kindergarten, Takalar Regency. The research approach used is a quantitative approach with a Quasi Experimental Design type of research. The research design used was the Nonequivalent Control Group Design model using two test groups, namely 1 experimental group and a comparison group. The population in this study were students at Mentari Bontoa Kindergarten, Takalar Regency. The data collection techniques used were tests, observation and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, hypothesis testing is carried out using the Wilcoxon test inferential statistics with the level of significance being α = 0.05. Based on the results of the data analysis obtained, the calculated T value is 12.6 and the T table value is 2.571, so based on these results it can be explained that Tcount 12.6 > Ttable 2.571. Meanwhile, the calculated Z value is 1.96 and the Z table value at the 0.05 level is 0.475, so the calculated Z value > Z table value is 0.475, which means H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. This proves that there is an influence of the monopoly game on children's early reading abilities compared to using word cards.
