The quality of attachment in childhood to the figure of his lethargy (parents) is an experience that can influence and determine a person's ability to establish intimacy. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a significant relationship between parental attachment and intimacy emerging adulthood that establishes romantic relationships in Surabaya. The research method used is quantitative. This research instrument uses the adaptation of the inventory of parent and peer attachment (IPPA) scale and the personal assessment of intimacy in relationship (PAIR) scale. The research sample amounted to 349 respondents and the sampling used the purposive sampling method, with criteria determined by the researcher, with data collection techniques using questionnaires with Likert scales. Data processing using Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis. The results of this study showed a pearson correlation value of 0.439 and it can be interpreted that parental attachment with intimacy has a moderate correlation coefficient value. The conclusion in this study is that there is a relationship between parental attachment and intimacy, so the higher the attachment, the higher the intimacy.
