The current environmental crisis demands fundamental changes in our ways of thinking and behavior. Critical psychology offers a unique lens for understanding how social, cultural, and economic systems shape environmentally damaging behavior. By uncovering the structural roots of the problem, such as social constructions of nature and unequal power relations, critical psychology promotes transformation towards a more sustainable society. This research highlights the importance of integrating local wisdom in efforts to address the environmental crisis, while critically analyzing the threats faced by traditional practices. In doing so, critical psychology paves the way for collaboration between scientific and local knowledge to create more inclusive and effective solutions.
