<![CDATA[Umbilical cord care is a care process that aims to care for the umbilical cord of a newborn baby to keep it dry and prevent infection. Improper umbilical cord care techniques will cause umbilical cord infection. The principle of umbilical cord care is to keep the umbilical cord dry, not wet and clean, therefore, it is not recommended to apply any material to the umbilical cord. Good umbilical cord care is one of the efforts to prevent neonatal infection. The purpose of this empowerment is to find out about umbilical cord care with the open method and the sterile gauze method on the length of umbilical cord release. Based on the results of a survey conducted on May 8, 2025 in Ladang Bambu Village, Medan. The methods used in the series of stages include counseling/education Health education. Providing material in the form of an understanding of the umbilical cord, how to care for the umbilical cord with the open method, how to care for the umbilical cord with the sterile gauze method. The results achieved after participating in community empowerment and discussion in Ladang Bambu Village, Medan Tuntungan District to find out about umbilical cord care with the open method and the sterile gauze method.]]>
