Abstract

Transformer monitoring and measurement process at PT. PLN (Persero) at the BR 391 distribution substation is carried out manually during peak load hours in the field, which usually takes place between 18.00-22.00 local time. The peak load hours at distribution substations can vary, whether in the morning, afternoon or evening, sometimes even during the day. Because of this difference, determining peak load hours is still done manually by staff. However, this approach is considered inefficient. Therefore, in this research, we plan to develop a monitoring and data storage system using LoRa technology. This system will enable continuous monitoring of transformers at distribution substations, in contrast to manual methods which are only carried out during certain hours. This technology has been tested at the distribution substation BR 391 Jl. Wijaya Kusuma Medan. Observation results show that peak load hours occur between 18.00-22.00 WIB, with the highest peak load reaching R=20. 983,6 watts, S=17.031,0 watts, and T=21.801,4 watts per phase. The highest daily average power consumption was recorded at 20.00 WIB. Increased load tends to occur at night, with the highest load in the T phase
