<![CDATA[In the maritime and port industries, the Agent on Board (AOB) serves as a vital link between the vessel and port authorities, ensuring efficient cargo operations. This study explores the challenges faced by AOBs at PT. Andhini Samudera Jaya during the preparation of loading documents. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were gathered through observation, literature review, interviews via digital platforms, and documentation. The findings reveal both internal and external challenges. Internally, AOBs often lack technical competence, English proficiency, and digital literacy, leading to errors and delays. Externally, issues such as poor onboard facilities, limited internet access, and last-minute document revisions affect performance. These obstacles disrupt the accuracy and timeliness of cargo documentation, impacting the company’s operational effectiveness. The study suggests regular training, better equipment, improved internet access, and digital documentation systems to address these problems. Enhancing both human and technological resources is crucial to increasing AOB professionalism and supporting more reliable shipping agency services.]]>
