Pulmonary Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria that requires long-term treatment and a high level of patient adherence to achieve recovery. Adherence to medication is a key factor in the success of TB treatment. One factor that can influence patient adherence is the emotional support received from their family. To determine the relationship between emotional support and medication adherence among pulmonary tuberculosis patients in the working area of Pekauman Public Health Center, Banjarmasin City. This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design, involving a sample of 36 respondents selected using a total sampling technique. Data collection was conducted using emotional support and medication adherence questionnaires. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman rank test with a 95% confidence level. Most TB patients at the Pekauman Public Health Center, Banjarmasin City, received high emotional support, with 22 respondents (61.1%), and demonstrated good medication adherence, with 29 respondents (80.6%). The Spearman rank test results showed a significant value (2-tailed) of p-value = 0.003 < 0.05, indicating that the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. This means that there is a relationship between emotional support and medication adherence among pulmonary tuberculosis patients in the working area of Pekauman Public Health Center, Banjarmasin City. High family emotional support can influence medication adherence in pulmonary TB patients.
